If you’re an avid gamer, you might know the pain of a d6. After all, cubes aren’t exactly the perfect shape when it comes to rolling. That must be what the creators of Doublesix Dice thought when they came up with a d12, which has each number printed twice. This gives the exact same result as rolling a single d6, but with a much smoother roll.

Essentially instead of rolling six sided dice, you can roll 12 sided dice and pair up the even numbers with the odd numbers. This would mean 1 would be the same as 2, 3 would be the same as 4, etc. However this quite frankly starts to give someone a head ache after a while. So Doublesix Dice work by just having each number appear twice. It’s the same odds! The basic dice for this project are going to be white with black pips, but multiple stretch goals have been reached. These include extra dice with a lot of different color options and Kickstarter exclusive dice. There are also tiers for fudge dice and triple-fours.

Unfortunately this campaign started before Geekers’ Keep went live but, quite frankly, the campaign is doing just fine. With four days to go, the campaign has received nearly 5,000 backers and roughly 30 times its original funding goal. Now with most of my reviews, the unique elements have been pretty much limited to the products themselves, but that’s not the case with Doublesix. The creators of this project decided to utilize an element of chance in their campaign. Backers have the option of selecting tiers which provide a random number of dice: a number determined by, as you might have guessed, a dice roll!
