Game Overview
The game’s website and Kickstarter page purport Legends of Chaos to be something consumers have been wanting for awhile now. Citing from the Kickstarter video:
The Trading Card Game industry has been yearning for something refreshing for a number of years now! There’s been a huge gap of good trading card games for kids who play games like Pokemon…
And then years later…
transition into D&D and Magic the Gathering…
Now…something New and Intriguing…is coming “Into Play”!
Legends of Chaos is going to fill this void…
Despite the confidence, there is nothing to showcase on the Kickstarter page or website that speaks to the revolutionary tone they are attempting to set for their card game .
Plot and Setting
According to the storyline, the purpose of the battles within the Legends of Chaos universe is to win the ownership of the Book of Chaos, a symbol of leadership for the now destroyed tenth planet, Zentron. All such battles now occur on a planet “with very similar traits to that of planet Venus.” Considering some of the chosen to battle are humans and the fact that Venus’ atmosphere has been known to crush probes, it’s an interesting setting decision.
In this universe, seven warriors that are descendants of the last citizens of the tenth planet Zentron are pitted in battles similar to those in Magic the Gathering and other like-styled games. Though unlike Magic, Legends of Chaos does not use lands or any other type of energy cards, and instead of players starting with the same health, HP is dependent upon the chosen warrior. The one unique card in LoC is the “One/Two” card that dictates the cards drawn per round. Otherwise, expect some deck building and some cards that play rather similarly to Magic’s monsters and spells.

Chances of Success
As it stands, Creative Revolutions, LLC is marketing without solid content for their target backers, and are unlikely to meet it’s funding goal using overly confident phrasing such as, “you won’t be sorry,” instead of showcasing, at a minimum, how the game is played.
But all of this is probably besides the point when considering this last bit of text under the Risks and Challenges section:
We have designed, developed, tested through focus groups, and printed our first series. We have a nice inventory that was printed by a professional printing company overseas. Our product has made it here safely by boat and has cleared US Customs. We are ready to get this to market very quickly.
As it is clear that the cards are already printed, this whole campaign appears to be completely unnecessary. As Creative Revolutions, LLC has not gotten back to us in time for this review, it’s not possible to fully know their intentions. That said, they would most likely be better served selling their product directly to consumers instead of holding out for the funding to possibly go through in March.
