Game overview

Forum: Mage Rage

Mage Rage Alchemy LabsMage Rage is a first person puzzle platformer set in the world of the College of Sandy Crack. In this world the Player assumes the role of a student mage on a quest to retrieve the mystical Chalice of Drinking. In the world of Mage Rage, Mages gain their mystical abilities by the consumption of alcohol, which of course gets them into trouble from time to time. The game is set in a fantasy setting and as such Mage Rage prides itself in making self referential humour about itself and the typical tropes of the fantasy genre as a whole. The game itself is currently a single player game and will be available for Windows, Mac, and Linux environments.

About the Team

Team Stallion is comprised of four recent Griffith University Games Design graduates, Ashleigh Barrett (Artist), Tylah Heil (Programmer/3D Modeller), Tim Horvat (Programmer), and Nathan Jensen (Programmer). Our mission is to release high quality entertaining games, so when players see our Team Stallion Logo they know they are going to get a quality experience worth their time.

You can download an early alpha build of Mage Rage right now from IndieDB (All versions require 64-bit systems), please be aware that the demo contains some coarse language and as such is unsuitable for children. Actually there’s quite a bit of course language. It definitely gives the impression of someone who’s got a pretty bad hangover.

Kickstarter Specifics

Goal: $10,000 (AUD)
Pledge Levels: $1 – $80 AUD
End Date: Sun, Mar 30 2014 8:36 PM EST

Chances of success

The campaign is moving rather slowly at the moment, but it still has time to succeed. I’m not sure how much work Team Stallion is doing in terms of getting the word out, but there have been multiple updates, so they are keeping track of what’s going on. The reward tiers do include options for early access and for having your portrait added into the game. These are two important features crowd funded games should always have. They also have a proof of concept alpha, but they might want to showcase it a little more.
