Game overview

Forum: Gone Viking
Gone VikingGone Viking seems like a great game to play with your friends. This game allows you to practice strategies on how to collect certain tokens in order to target the Jarl and prevent him from stealing what belongs to you! In this way, it may somewhat remind you of games like Settlers of Catan, Munchkin, Magic, etc. in terms of thinking of strategies on how to win the game.

Summary

“Thank the Gods! Another successful raiding voyage! You will be seen as heroes to return home with so many spoils. But one big problem awaits. You and all the other Viking lords have sworn fealty to a chieftain who takes, by right, half your wealth when you go viking and return with plunder. Thankfully, this Jarl only targets the one among you who has gained the most, the one he fears the most. If you acquire and hold on to the most Wealth and overcome all opposition, you will become the next great chieftain and win the game!”

Kickstarter Specifics

Goal: $5,000 CAD
Pledge Levels: 9 levels ranging from $1 CAD to $300 CAD

Chances of success

This campaign is less than halfway to its funding goal with 22 days left in the campaign. However, this project still has a chance of succeeding. The Flux Capacity has already had one successful campaign and they hope those backers will follow them to this campaign. The Flux Capacity has many supporters to help them with play testing, manufacturing, etc. Although the team is enthusiastic, they know there could be challenges ahead.

Their Kickstarter campaign states the following:

“The milestones for Gone Viking include delivering the final artwork to our manufacturer, having a pre-production copy sent to us for approval, the mass production phase, the shipping phase and finally the fulfillment phase. The Risks have been minimized in our case because we have pre-arranged all of these phases prior to hitting the launch button. There can however always be snags and we are prepared to deal with them as they come!”
