If you’re a fan of Ancient Egyptian mythology, or are just looking for an interesting game, Nebtauy – The Pharaoh Conspiracy might be for you. Nebtuay seems to be loosely based off of the Judicial Papyrus of Turin, “an ancient Egyptian record of the trials held against conspirators plotting to assassinate Ramesses III” (Wikipedia Entry).

Each player starts out as one of eight classes. Each class has multiple levels. Every player lives, or works, in the Theban Necropolis. As the game’s story goes, by accident, they hear one of the conspirators plotting against the King. This is the chance of a lifetime, to get a never ending grant from the Pharaoh himself… but only if they can survive!
Advancing in levels is the key to accessing other areas and to get to the Pharaoh’s Palace, since a mere soldier can not enter The Karnak Temple Complex nor can a simple scribe enter the Palace itself!

Chances of success
One of the concerns regarding the campaign is the need for a proof reader who is fluent in English. As is apparent, English is not the first language of the game’s creators. I have already contacted them and addressed this concern and they have assured me that proof reading will be done before the final release.
The game design itself is also still a work in progress meaning there’s no proof of concept game play to see, at least not yet. Getting a video of a prototype in action would definitely help the campaign. In a positive note, it looks as though a lot of thought has been put into this game. The main roadblock right now looks to be revenue for art work, something that’s quite expensive if you want it done right.
