Dragon Valley, created by Queen Kids, is a game designed first and foremost with children in mind. It looks to be a fun game that will give parents more options to engage their children while helping children build skills such as dexterity, communication and cooperation.

Starlight by Creative Genius is a mobile platform game looking for funding support on Kickstarter. When I first looked at the project, my initial thought was that the style was somehow reminiscent of ‘The Little Prince’. “Starlight is an adventure platform game riddled with puzzles, traps and opportunities for exploration, where you play as both Timothy Brave, a boy afraid of the dark, and Altair, a shooting star, on a journey through a world almost completely devoid of light.”

I was quite excited when I saw this project on Kickstarter. Robot Turtles is a game marketed towards parents of young children. Okay, so I wasn’t planning on spending hours playing it myself, and I don’t have any children of my own at the moment. The reason I was so excited by this project was because it is an example of how games can be used as powerful tools for teaching children seemingly complex topics. In this case, Robot Turtles disguises programming techniques as a fun game for children ages 3 and up.« Continue »
